Will I be arrested at sentencing or given report to jail date?

Q:  I am set to be sentenced for a misdemeanor 2nd DUI this week. Will I be taken into custody on the spot? Or will I be given a report to jail date? If i am given a report date that may not be satisfactory, am I able to request that that date be extended?

A:  In Los Angeles county, whether you are given a turn in date varies by courtroom. If you already pled, and you are returning for sentencing it sounds like the judge might want to remand you. The best person to ask about this is an attorney or public defender.
